A Spark of Hope… in spite of 2020

It’s been a hot minute since I’ve connected with you, but I’m bettin’ you’re a lot like me. Even though we just rang in the new year, you’re still trying to wrap your head around 2020. Right? I know I am.
I don’t think we will ever forget 2020. An awful year—for most. I think it threw a good many of us for a loop: unexpected turns, untold heartache, and tremendous loss on many levels.
Yet, I’m almost certain that in the coming months, as 2021 unfolds, we will be able to look back and discover in the midst of the great upheaval of 2020 there were some beautiful lessons to be grasped and carried into the new year.
Lessons I hope we will never forget—like realizing what really matters most.
One of the biggest aha moments for me was that “forced isolation” took me into this wonderful writing space that has re-ignited my passion to help struggling salon and spa owners. With every piece I have written… HOPE for those who have lost so much in 2020 has begun to blaze within my heart like a raging fire.
And this is what I know for sure: 2020 put everyone in the same boat and it made it so obvious how much salon and spa owners are struggling to survive. But the truth is there is always pain in the business world. In fact, 8 or 10 salons go out of business with or without the pandemic.
So, I’m gonna keep writing, keep sharing and keep teaching about all those things that can turn a failing salon and spa into the most profitable salon and spa in town.
Yes! I am so glad that 2020 is over. But I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I’m so very grateful for 2020. In the midst of this unprecedented year a fierce wind of hope has blown through my life and rekindled a fire for those who desperately need a way to move forward—a way out of the dark and into the light.
I’m carrying that flame into 2021 and I could not be more grateful for the awakening within my own soul and the joy of reconnecting with that which brings me great joy.
So, what about you? In 2020, what brought you great joy in spite of the suffering? What broke your heart and made you weep? And what about 2020 made you really angry—angry enough to let you know you should channel that passion into something that could make a difference in the lives of those you love and lead?
Answer those three questions and I promise you—2021 could be your best year ever. You see my friend; whether you know it or not, you have been uniquely created to be a difference maker. Hold on to that truth. Go run you race. Go slay some dragons. And may 2021 bring great joy, peace, and prosperity to you and those you love and lead.
I believe in you.
